The Youth Group will sadly be shutting in 2018.
The group has been struggling to provide consistent and positive youth group sessions for many months due to a lack of volunteers and also difficulties in acquiring more volunteers to support the group, despite various recruitment campaigns. We have also noticed a drop in our member’s numbers and this is felt to be due to a number of factors, which include other groups taking place in the local area on a Friday.
Group Leader Scott Burton, is no longer able to continue to provide the support the group needs. As the group now has only a few volunteers and without strong leadership and a dedicated committee we are unable to take the group forward and therefore the group will unfortunately have to close.
Clearly this is very sad news.
It will take a while to wind down the group, with a few key things to sort out including our excess funds and equipment. Items will be donated to other local groups and any excess funds will be donated to other local groups or charities as decided by existing committee members
It is suggested that we have one last night whereby young people can come as usual to the group. It is proposed that we do this on the Friday 19th January 2018. 6.30 to 8.30 as usual. This night will be free.
Welcome to the new Hedon Youth Group website!
The group was established in October 2009 and aims to bring young people in the community closer together. The Youth Group meets every Friday between 6.30 and 8.30pm and relies on the support of the local community and is run solely by volunteers. Any young person between the ages of 10 yrs and 16 yrs can attend the group and we are open nearly all year round apart from the Christmas and New Year holidays. We mainly provide support to young people of Hedon and the surrounding villages (South Holderness area), however anyone can attend.
We aim to
